  1. Natural World

From the album Not Being With You

A tongue-in-cheek comment on our fascination with our phones, using my daughter as the subject, although she's not really as obsessed with technology as the words imply. Artistic license aside, please quit driving and texting. I've already lost one friend to a head-on crash caused by this. Is it really worth your life?

Lyrics

Natural World – Glenn Reid

A G D
V1: My kid’s grown up and living, mostly, at home
A G D
Most of the living she does is done on her phone.
A G D
I try to tell her she’s just virtually alive.
A G D
Her hand just shushes me as she rolls her eyes.

V2: She knows much better than an old man like me.
She watches movies on her three-inch T.V.
Her friends all love to share electronic laughs.
But she ain’t seen them in a month and a half.

E D A
Refrain: Put your shoes on and go out into the light.
E D A
It may be scary, Hon, but you’ll be alright
D A E
I promise you, digital girl,
D A E ( A G D (x2))
out here in the natural world….the natural world.

V3: There is a world beyond that miniature screen.
There’re places you may think you’ve already seen.
You could hear music with no frequencies missin’
I know it goes against your grain but please listen.
